TEACHING ACTIVITIES

Mr. Joye has taught attorneys from every state in the U.S. techniques and strategies to use in the defense of DUI cases. He has been a frequent lecturer at numerous state bar associations seminars, trial lawyer associations seminars, and criminal defense associations seminars on DUI defense.

He, along with the late great DUI defense attorney, Richard E. Erwin; professor, attorney and author Lawrence Taylor; attorney, lecturer and author Donald H. Nichols; engineer Dr. James Feldman organized and participated in a 15-city three week intensive seminar featuring the best known attorneys at that time in the defense of DUI cases entitled "Winning Strategies in DUI Defenses."

Time magazine, on January 16, 1984, stated: "Nichols and Joye, along with two other attorneys and two scientists, have been running one of the most successful legal workshops on drunk driving defense that are well attended."

He has also taught at the South Carolina Court Administration's Orientation School for Newly Appointed Magistrates and Municipal Judges on the Law of DUI.
