EDUCATION

Mr. Joye, a native South Carolinian, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina (USC) in 1961. The technical understanding and mathematical knowledge learned in these years have made him keen in his analytical skills and intellect. While at USC, he was president of his class, a member of O. D. K. leadership fraternity, an outstanding senior, and Who's Who in American Colleges.

His law degree was obtained from USC where he received awards for research. He taught at Richland Technical College while attending law school where he learned teaching skills.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

As a private pilot, his interest in aviation took him to The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington where at age 28, he was a contract negotiator for the sale of Boeing jets to airlines throughout the world. At age 29, he advanced to Director of Contract Administration & Program Management of Fairchild-Hillar Aircraft Corporation in Hagerstown, Maryland.

DUI EXPERIENCE

In 1970, at age 31, he opened his private law practice in North Charleston, South Carolina, as a trial attorney. As demands grew and his success ensued, his practice of defending clients in DUI cases multiplied into the thousands. Known as a tenacious litigator in the courtroom, he has developed countless strategies in his arsenal of trial tactics.
